I’ve been thinking a lot about labels lately. You know, those heavy words that people pin on us—sometimes deserved, sometimes not, but always seeming to stick longer than we’d like. As I prepared my heart for the feast season and reflected on the women who came before us, one sister kept coming to mind: Rahab.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. *Rahab the prostitute.* That’s how she’s often introduced, isn’t it? But here’s what the Most High has been showing me—sometimes the very thing that the world uses to shame us becomes the platform for our greatest testimony.

Picture this: a woman living in Jericho, a city marked for destruction. She’s heard the stories—how the Israelites’ Elohim dried up the Red Sea, how He delivered them from Egypt with a mighty hand. And when two spies show up at her door, she makes a choice that changes everything. Not just for her, but for generations to come.

Rahab didn’t let her past paralyze her future. She didn’t say, “Who am I to help the people of Elohim?” She acted in faith, risking everything to align herself with the purposes of the Most High. And beloved, that scarlet cord she hung from her window? It wasn’t just her salvation—it was a foreshadowing of the scarlet blood that would flow from her lineage, from Yeshua Himself.

Yes, you read that right. The woman the world labeled as “prostitute” became a foremother of our Messiah. Her name appears in the lineage of the King of Kings. If that doesn’t make you want to shout, I don’t know what will.

But here’s what gets me most excited about Rahab’s story—and what I’m diving deep into in the debut issue of Princess Abigail Magazine—she understood something that we often miss: humility isn’t about thinking less of yourself; it’s about thinking of yourself less. She could have been prideful, defensive about her past. Instead, she humbled herself before the Elohim of Israel and became part of His redemptive plan.

As we enter this feast season, preparing our hearts and homes for the appointed times of the Most High, I can’t help but think about how Rahab’s story speaks to us modern Hebrew women. How do we create space for humility in our homes? How do we teach our children that their past doesn’t determine their purpose? How do we walk in the understanding that the Most High can use anyone—regardless of their history—for His glory?

These are the questions that kept me up at night, and they’re the very ones we’re exploring in the autumn edition of Princess Abigail Magazine. This isn’t just another publication, beloved. This is a love letter to the Hebrew woman who knows she’s called to something greater but sometimes struggles to see past the labels the world has placed on her.

In our debut issue, we’re pulling back the curtain on Rahab’s complete story—the parts that make us uncomfortable, the parts that make us hope, and the parts that make us want to be better daughters of Zion. We’re also diving into practical ways to cultivate humility in our homes during the feast season, creating atmospheres where the Ruach HaKodesh can move freely.

But this is more than just Rahab’s story. It’s about understanding that every Hebrew woman has the potential to be a foremother of something beautiful, something lasting, something that echoes into eternity.
