🌸 Set Apart Homemaking for The Daughters of Israel + The Watered Womanhood Podcast: Biblical Femininity

Lately I’ve had to remind myself: being somewher Lately I’ve had to remind myself: being somewhere else in my mind makes me miss the beauty right in front of me.

Homemaking isn’t just chores and checklists, even though it feels that way. It’s a holy rhythm. A quiet offering. And when I slow down enough to be present, I hear the Father whisper into the small things.

Here are 3 ways I’m leaning into presence as a homemaker, straight from Scripture:

1. Start your day with intention – “She looks well to the ways of her household…” (Proverbs 31:27).

I take a moment before the day begins to ask, What does my home need today? What does my heart need to give?

Not only does this help me be productive, it helps me to also prioritize so that I don't attempt to "get it all done".

2. Serve with gentleness – “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” (Proverbs 31:26).

Whether I’m folding towels or settling little hearts, I want my words to match my hands—gentle.

It's easy to be hardened when we are pouring into others all day with little receiving or recognition. This is where intentional gentleness becomes paramount.

3. Let your hands follow your heart – “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might…” (Ecclesiastes 9:10).

I’m learning that wholeheartedness in small tasks plants seeds of peace in my home.

And these seeds produce the kind of fruit that will impact my family for generations, even if I can't see it right now.

Being fully present is one of the greatest gifts we can offer our homes, daily and Maker. And it's also the greatest gift we can offer ourselves.

The grass isn't greener. You ARE making the best use of your time, right at home. Your gifts ARE being used and you WILL be compensated, beyond measure.

Stop wishing you were doing something more exciting, and just enjoy the little things.

📖 "A brother is born for adversity..." But do w 📖 "A brother is born for adversity..." But do we truly honor our brothers' strength?

🙏🏾 "Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men." - Romans 12:17

💪🏾 Our community celebrates strong Black women, we are known for our strength. But what about our brothers?

👑 Like David who faced Goliath, our grandfathers and fathers fought systemic giants with quiet dignity and unrecognized courage (and still fighting)

🤫 "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." (Proverbs 27:17) Yet how can we sharpen each other when pain remains unspoken?

❤️ Every year i learn more and more from the brothers in my life, and I am always astounded by the silent wounds they carry.

🌱 "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." - Philippians 2:4

🕎 I'm sweet on our brothers because Ephesians reminds us to "submit to one another out of reverence for Christ"

🕊️ May we build each other up as Thessalonians teaches, seeing the divine strength in both our sisters AND brothers

Why do you care so much about what the world think Why do you care so much about what the world thinks? Why let the world set the standard for what YOU do?

No, home is not always perfect. Our children are not always behaving the way we want or hitting the milestones we desire of them. Our husbands aren’t always what we need them to be.

But the grass isn’t greener on the other side. It may look like it, until you get there, and from that position you’ll see your own grass from a new perspective.

You will see that you were chasing grass while you already had a garden in bloom.

Don’t be that wife or mom constantly consuming and devouring images of boss babes, if that’s not where you want to be.

The Torah (Bible) says do not look upon thy neighbor’s belongings to covet them.

It’s ok to tune out the world, to protect our own minds. Not just the wars, tragedies and folly. But the “empowerment” (read: capitalism and slavery) too
